A friend of mine is looking for alternative to the stump table. Everywhere she looks, she finds the price a bit shocking. When you live in an area where stumps and tree trunks are abundant, I gotta tell ya, I was taken aback when I searched and found prices from two hundred and change to over $600. No wonder she was looking for alternatives! So I did some digging and I found the best value I could and then I found some alternatives that are bring the natural simplicity of the tree stump table but with a more manageable price tag.

Solid Wood Stump Table This is the best deal I could find! For about $150 this one can be yours. The only true stump table I am including would also require shipping for about $50. Located in Cornwall, if you’re in that neck of the woods (see what I did there?) maybe you could arrange to pick it up and save some $$$

Natural Edge Side Table with Hairpin Legs I am a big fan of this one! It has the lowest price of all my selections and I love the sleek MCM inspired legs and the “negative space” that the others lack.

Ball and Cast Concrete Look-a-Like. Can you believe this isn’t real wood? I didn’t! It is made of a light weight concrete composite and comes in three colours, all of which have slightly different looks.

Hardwood Table with Hairpin Legs I think this is my favourite! It has the heavy natural look of solid wood but the hairpin legs elevate it (ha!) to something with a bit more elegance. LOVE

Barn Beam Side Table This is a great alternative. Although it costs more that the least expensive stump table, you can choose the height of this one and I like that it has the organic look but with a lot of history.

Stump and Root Table. Mmmmm, don’t love but I thought I should include it. It would work better as a stool in a sleek bathroom to add something organic. But, I don’t like that gnome-like little face staring back at me (Is it just me???)

Storage Stool And now for something completely different…I thought I would be very clever and find something wood (check), cylindrical (check) and less expensive (nope). Nearing the end of our list, is one of the more expensive options. But it would warm up a very modern space plus it has storage. A great option for a modern home or condo to keep things tidy!

Wood Drum Table This one is organic and brings the warmth of wood. I like that it is lighter both visually and actually. It is the most expensive of the round up, but like everything I included, it is under $200
