How to Survive Celiac Disease- Part Two, Best Gluten-Free Baked Good Recipes

Gluten-free Cinnamon Bun – My Daughter’s Handiwork

My daughter and I have had pretty good luck at finding great gf baking recipes! We have also had a lot of success just substituting the President’s Choice Gluten-Free all purpose flour one-for-one in regular recipes. Below you will find the best gluten free baked goods recipes we have found.

One major downfall of GF flour is it lacks stretchy proteins and so, tends to be crumbly or dense (especially after a day or two) So best results come when making baked goods that can be enjoyed crumbly (like apple crisp or cake) and dense (try the brownies, below, you WILL NOT be disappointed!)

Be aware that recipes that include oats need to be substituted for GF oats. Oats themselves do not contain gluten, but there is cross contamination in farming and processing and cannot be considered safe. I buy my GF oats at the Bulk Barn in a package (not a bulk item).

Some recipes call for xanthum gum (pronounce Zan’thum). Check your brand of flour, it may be included and if so, you do not need to add more.

If using coconut flour add additional liquid, it soaks it up!

Store baked goods in the fridge to prevent mushiness!

Below, please find our favourites. Please feel free to share yours in the comments!
