Stick around to check out my Jamaica wardrobe including the best swimsuit! But first, a personal note…
Thank you for waiting while I’ve been gone. I needed a break. And by that I mean, I kind of broke. Two years of Covid, anger-fuelled protests and the addition of the horrors that are happening in Ukraine and I just. couldn’t. do. anything. I think I got to the end of the rope and fell off.
Fortunately, there was a part of me that must have understood my state of mind. So when a trip that we had planned with friends (last year) fell apart; that part of me booked a trip to Jamaica. A trip we could cancel if necessary, but guess what? I wasn’t going to cancel.
Turns out it was just what I needed. Somehow, I was able to put aside all worries and concerns for 9 days and it put my head right again. A reset, if you will. We came home and I was able to let go the anger and constant influx of cortisol. I was able to see angry protest signs and not get upset. After being away, I realized how angry the whole country seems to be.
I didn’t know it but I needed to get away from that for a while.
My other struggle was how does one write about fashion and home decor in a world that is suffering?
If you too are wondering how we can go on experiencing joy and celebrating the good, with all that is going on in the world, well I saw a clip of Brene Brown on Ellen and it helped. The link is below, skip to 11:11 if you are short on time.
“Lean in to love and joy and connection.” Good advice. I’m going to do my best to live it.
So here are some things to enjoy, to connect us. I hope you like them.
What I Bought for Our Trip
Some of the links below are affiliate links. Which means I make a commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks for supporting my blog!
So… I found an AMAZING swim suit! I love this red one-piece! It has a flattering ruffle which makes the bust look bigger, removable pads, full coverage on the backside, a sophisticated look with gold embellishment and a beautiful red colour. It’s also from a Canadian company! I don’t have any good pictures of me in it but believe me when I say I looked just like the swimsuit model below! 😉 A woman even stopped my daughter and I to say we had the best figures on the beach! Did I mention I LOVE JAMAICA?
This one cost a little more than I usually pay but when you find a swimsuit that you a feel good in, I say buy it and don’t look back!
I love this cover-up! Love the vibrant colours, the shoulder coverage, the drawstring waist and the price. Link here
