Kid’s Books and Summer Activity Deals @Bookoutlet.ca

Spread the love

I miss having little kids. Playing with them, hearing their funny comments in their sweet little kid voices, chubby fingers, reading with them, planning their birthday parties. All the good stuff! Of course, at my age I only remember the good stuff. You forget the crying and screaming over the colour of the cup, the irrational behavior, the messes, the boredom, the exhaustion. Still, I miss having little kids.

Luckily, I get to work with children, younger and older. I still get to hear good stories and funny comments. I get to see things through a different filter, I get asked great questions and I laugh everyday that I tutor.

I feel for the parents trying to navigate life right now, especially with one month to go and kids not heading back to school. I can see the kids I tutor getting to the “over it” stage. Hang in there! I’m rooting for you!

I stumbled on some bargains that I thought would help parents with young children at home. I got excited when I saw all the workbooks, books, puzzles and games (and possible birthday gifts!) At bargain prices no less.. imagine how excited I would have been if I could actually use some of these things! So, I am passing the information along. If you don’t have littles, feel free to pass this along yourself!

Bookoutlet.ca has discounted work books great for keeping skills up over the summer, or as help for those who could use a little more support. They have a variety of Brain Quest books, which I liked for my kiddos and Sylvan, which I haven’t used so I can’t vouch for. Funny story, when my daughter was maybe 4 or 5, we had a Brain Quest quiz booklet that was similar to a paint fan deck. She loved to answer the questions and eventually made a new game to play with the deck. She called it “Consequences”. We had to ask her the questions and if she got one wrong she asked us to hit her with the deck. Hence “Consequences” Of course, we didn’t whack her with the deck!!! But she would receive a gentle tap, just to keep her happy. See? Kids are FUNNY!
